Does your self-esteem need a hard lesson from Lizzo? Sometimes mine does too. I’m here to help.

Unfollow people or things that brings any negative energy into your life. Pause this right now and get rid of a few things in your closet, unfollow a few people on the gram, and rethink the people in your circle, do they bring you joy??

Your own mental health is quite possibly the most important piece in your fitness journey, and often it’s looked over.

Too often we feel guilty of taking too much time for ourselves. Let’s think for just a second how silly that sounds.

If you constantly give time and energy to other people before yourself, you will always be pouring from an empty cup. How can you pour something when you are stone cold dry?

Take care of yourself FIRST. What does that mean exactly?

  1. Do more things that make you happy. Think about the last time you really felt joy and happiness. Add that into your life consistently so you can feel it all the time. Doesn’t matter what it is but it just has to make you feel all the happiness. Stop comparing your happiness to other people’s. You don’t know what’s going on in their life, and you are different. Do things that bring YOU joy.

  2. Surround yourself with people that bring you UP. I remember being with this guy for a long wishing that he would be different, but he always made me feel like a lesser version of myself. Nobody has time to a lesser version of themselves. We need to be showcase our best selves.

  3. Set boundaries. Did you know? You actually weren’t meant to see or BE all the people you see online. In a normal day, and prior to social media, you didn’t engage with thousands of people. Maybe you saw some people at work, at the grocery store, at lunch. But social media has now inundated you with the opinions and lives of so many more people that you can’t mentally process that much and that we’ve started to take all that in. Setting the boundary of time online is extremely important for your mindset. Without feeling guilty of scrolling, set your app to only let you see it for X amount of time per day. It will automatically close the app when the time is reached.

You are important. You are worthy. You are enough. You just have to believe that yourself.
